Delta Force: Black Hawk Down is an action, first-person shooter video game developed and published by Ritual Entertainment in conjunction with MGM Interactive, who published the game in Europe. It is a direct sequel to their 1994 DOS PC game Delta Force 2: The Killing Game, and is the fourth and final installment in the popular Delta Force franchise. It was released for Microsoft Windows in North America on November 16, 1999.
The player assumes the role of an American Army Delta Force member called John “Mac” MacKenzie, and is tasked with freeing a United States Air Force Captain and his team who have been captured and held prisoner by Al-Qaeda militants in the fictional African country of Gémina.
